US AND CHANGE LIVES
Seeds of Leadership has made a profound impact in Uganda by empowering young and adult individuals to rise above socio-economic challenges and become leaders in their communities. Through our comprehensive programs focused on education, finance, mentorship, and leadership development, we have supported hundreds of students in accessing quality education, nurturing their potential, and equipping them with the skills needed to effect positive change.
Our efforts have not only helped students complete their studies but have also fostered a generation of socially responsible leaders who are actively contributing to the development and transformation of Uganda. By investing in the next generation, Seeds of Leadership is sowing the seeds for a brighter, more equitable future in Uganda.

Education
At Seeds of Leadership Uganda, we believe that Education is not only a fundamental human right, but also a pillar in the effort to eradicate poverty. Any limitation to access Education not only damages the wellbeing of an individual, but threatens the overall development of a country.
Many households in Uganda face high levels of poverty and vulnerability driven by recurrent shocks and high levels of informality, amidst very limited social protection coverage. According UNHS (2019/20) 20.3 per cent of the population lives in income poverty with the percentage rising to 23.4 per cent in rural areas compared to 11.7 per cent in urban areas.
In 2022, UBOS reported that the incidence of multidimensional poverty is much higher for those with no formal education (69.4 per cent) compared with those with secondary (18.7 per cent) and post-sec¬ondary education (7.5 per cent), highlighting the importance of education in poverty eradication
The refugee influx has put additional pressure on the government to provide education to children. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Uganda is Africa’ s largest refugee host, providing refuge to over 1.6 million people, including children. As of March 2024, Uganda hosted 1,660,524 refu¬gees and asylum seekers, the most of any country in Africa, putting additional pressure on already stretched education system.
The Ugandan government’s spending on education is not only low but among the lowest in East and Southern Africa. Government spending on education in 2023/24 stood at 8.4 per cent of the total national budget, which is well below most East African Member States and the average for Sub-Saharan Africa (13.6 per cent), low middle income countries (13.2 per cent), least devel¬oped countries (12.8) and the Dakar Declaration of 2000 (20 per cent).

Finance
As one of the approaches towards poverty eradication, Seeds of leadership is providing access to financial literacy trainings in various communities including slums and villages. Most of the People in the country work “Hand-to-Mouth”. We educate people about poverty, the impact it imposes on their lives as well as acceptable financial discipline. In 2016 realized the importance of creating organized savings and credit clubs through which members would be able to acquire knowledge to start and sustain small income generating activities, as well as grow a financial muscle to provide for their lives. We have been able to engage members on gainful investment – though this is a continuous process. Through these clubs, members are provided with periodic empowerment trainings to further their knowledge about business and finance. Club members are also able to access credit facilities with more realistic repayment terms. We formulate policies for their management and growth

Leadership
The tough economic crisis in the world and Uganda in particular, requires men and women that are determined to create impact in policy formulation and implementation. Through the education sponsorship program, we emphasize leadership and voluntary service across all available spaces. As a result, many of the beneficiaries have taken leadership roles in various capacities. The alarming corruption rates in different public offices require patriotic leaders that are going to transform their communities through good Stewardship of the limited resources. We use all available avenues to Equip, develop and release Leaders. Partners can support this cause through financial donations for leadership conferences, School outreach programs, donating reading materials on Leadership and personal development

Community Health& Food security.
The education sponsorship program over the years has produced doctors among other medical professionals. Two of our very own, through the Leadership mentorship program were able to start a non-profit call Destiny Doctors which currently has a membership of about 280 Medical professionals including surgeons and other medical experts. Our community health program is more inclined to the partnership we now have with the Destiny Doctors. Under this cause, we look forward to establishing medical facilities in underserved communities in Uganda.
